Brasil 2012
BRASIL!!! So much to see and do here!!!
My past trips abroad have always involved a lot of moving around (mostly in the great outdoors, not in cities) while taking in nature's glorious sites and going on wacky adventures, which I absolutely love. During my Brasil trip in 2000 I had a lot of great experiences, including a lot of music adventure and exploration in Salvador, Carnaval in Rio, plenty of hiking and boating around Foz do Iguaçu, and a week of hiking and canoeing in the flooded jungles of the Amazon, to name just some of my activities! I played with a lot of great musicians, too, while here and made some new friends, and I've still kept in touch with some of them since.
So for this trip, I'm gonna try something totally different - I'm gonna stay put - in Salvador, Bahia. At least, that's the plan for now. ?? Salvador is a big, bustling city on the east coast near the north, and is rich in history, music and capoeira. (See more on Salvador.) I will be focusing my time and energy in the pursuit of learning and playing as much music and capoeira as possible. I'm staying with some friends that I had made on the last trip, Pastel and his wife of 20 years, Ritinha. Great people and wonderful hosts!!

Boa Viagem!!...
PS. Brasil is not a typo - it's the Portuguese spelling. ;-)
